Cold Temperature Engine Testing
The engine test cells at ETC allow the engineer to evaluate engine operation at extreme environmental conditions.
Air handling systems allow for engine intake air temperatures down to -20 deg F. Additionally, engine coolant can be maintained at temperatures as low as 86 deg F. This combination makes it possible to calibrate engine controllers for operation during engine warmup, which is critical to reducing emissions to the low levels of future regulations.
